After months of planning and bringing together expert speakers from across law firms, inhouse and legal tech companies, Legal Innovators UK is happening next week on Wednesday and Thursday, November 6 and 7.
Every event is a little different, so what is Legal Innovators all about? In a nutshell it’s about three things: the new technologies reshaping the legal world; the people who are developing them, deploying them, and using them; and understanding what these changes mean for all of us.
It’s a conference that both explores where things are heading and grounds itself in the real-world experiences of those working at the cutting edge of legal innovation. It’s a conference that’s focused on discussion among leaders in legal tech, on debating key issues that matter to people and organisations, and it’s about the depth of analysis and the insights you gain when you assemble a top-level group.
That’s why we have panels and presentations stacked with leading figures from top law firms and pioneering inhouse legal teams, along with founders and execs from legal tech companies that are helping to reshape what’s possible – and of course generative AI is a key part of this.
For example, some of the law firms represented include: Linklaters, A&O Shearman, Latham & Watkins, Cleary Gottlieb (ClearyX), Macfarlanes, Dentons, CMS, Weightmans, Irwin Mitchell, Norton Rose Fulbright, Reed Smith (Gravity Stack), Charles Russell Speechlys, Baker McKenzie, Eversheds Sutherland and many more.
And from the inhouse world we have GCs and legal ops experts from: Kraft Heinz, Bank of America, JLL, VOIS, TED Conferences, Nokia, Mace, Ricardo, Euroclear, Rightmove, Volt, Natixis and more.
It’s a conference where people come to network with senior peers, and it’s a conference where we come to learn ‘what’s market’ and to get insights into what’s really happening within innovation teams, within legal ops teams, within the world’s top legal tech companies, and to consider where we realistically are heading – because without a doubt we have entered a new era for legal innovation and legal tech which is being reshaped by AI.
Speakers and Exhibitors
To achieve what Legal Innovators was designed to do we have brought together an incredible group of speakers from across the industry. For example, we have keynotes from Rowena Rix, Head of Innovation at Dentons, and Greg Baker, Head of Practice Innovation at Linklaters, on the law firm side.
From inhouse we have speakers such as Wayne Spillet, GC at VOIS, and Nishat Ruiter, GC at TED Conferences. And from the tech companies we will have speakers such as Max Junestrand, CEO of Leya, and Dr James Clough, CTO and co-founder of Robin AI….to name just a few.
In fact, check out the speaker page here, to see what a great group of experts we have assembled.
And, as you would expect, in addition to the tech company speakers mentioned above we have 24 organisations supporting the event, many of which will have people on stage and with exhibitor stands so you can engage with them during the breaks.
These range from giants such as LexisNexis, to new genAI companies such as Harvey, to pioneers such as LegalOn, Document Drafter and StructureFlow, to new startups such as Wexler, and consultancies and ALSPs including ClearyX, Accenture, and Gravity Stack….and many more!
And all of this is across two days, Day One: law firms, Day Two: inhouse and legal ops.
I have to say, I am very excited about the event. For me it’s the highlight of the year and there is going to be so much to learn and so much to explore!
Travel
Now, a last word about travel to the event, which is at America Square, near Tower Hill. As you’ve probably heard there may be Tube network strikes that week, with some disruption on the Wednesday and possibly more on the Thursday. This has happened before and we saw that average attendance was not affected. It just shows that people are resilient and given London’s wide range of travel options everyone can find a way to the conference.
But, in case it’s helpful, Transport for London has said that the Elizabeth Line will still be operating, which runs across the city and goes to Whitechapel – which is only a 15 min walk from the venue, while the DLR is also working and goes right to Tower Hill. Meanwhile, the overground, main rail lines, buses, rental bikes and more will all be working. The venue is also about a 15 min walk from Bank and about the same from London Bridge Station.
In short, although we are hoping they cancel their strike, as often happens at the last moment, if Tube services are reduced there will still be plenty of ways to get to Legal Innovators UK at One America Square, 17 Crosswall, London EC3N 2LB, even if you may need to set out a little earlier than usual.

Either way, myself and the team at Cosmonauts are really looking forward to welcoming you to the landmark legal innovation event. See you there!
